I'm interested in hearing what you have to say about the Outcast, Vic. D2 steel is not noted as being the best for choppers. Apparently it tends to be brittle and chips easily.
bld, I really like all these choppers. The big Kershaw has been great for saplings and roots. I have not damaged its edge so far. I have not batoned with it or really tested it as hard as I have the DF. My usual backyard blade is either the cheap Colt or the Ontario Bowie. They are cheap and they work. I have some "prettier" choppers with micarta handles, but these are the ones I really use. The DF is the new yard King for EDC. Long live the King.
