tony22r, the handle is made of the wood from a plant in Philippines that stops the bleeding when you get cut, I don’t know the name of it but I know it works, when I use to get cut up, I scrape a little off the handle and it stops the bleeding pretty quick. I found on the web where the old school was and they still sell them but I don’t know if they will ship them. http://www.pt-go.com/ses_jest.asp I also have a cold steel and a India Kukri, but the bolo has always been my favorite. Dan’s dogfather is an awesome chopper and I was wondering with the way the tip is a little more rounder might give it more weight at the tip giving it that Kukri effect for chopping.
Thanks DMelone, glad you liked the pictures.
Dan’s sheaths and the dogfather make a great combo. I can chop pretty much what I need down for shelter and fire. I then have my fire starter in the sheath with the knife if I need a fire.

The lighter I got off of e-bay, it's called an airtight flint, waterproof and still lights months later without adding fluid.
