Good Mornig Vic!

I couldn't agree more! They were a very intelligent and artistic people. No one in history was NOT violent, their protrayal as barbarians was propaganda!
Yes, we should not have expected otherwise from Christian monks who were being killed, looted, and plundered. The question is, why the anti-European propaganda continues. I suppose it is because of the Nazis, who stole and perverted much Norse culture. The posts that Bors has posted show clearly wisdom that is suitable for us all today.

Don't forget the Klan has also used the symbols thanks to the Ahole Nazis. I understand if a bunch of monks get whacked (can't tell that I'm Italian can you <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />) but you would think that people would relize today that it isn't so.

Look at themodern Ren faires. People who dress like vikings run around, usually in a barbaric way, getting drunk and raising hell. At least at mine they do. They think of themselves as the barbarians and beat their chests.

Reality is that these people were not only great artists, but sailors too. Discovering America before Columbus. Greenland, Icland and on to Canada. Plant material found in Greenland in digs coupled with the Norse saga's actually point to the upper east coast of North America. All done by these so called barbarians! I think not!
