There was a time when I'd had to have bought at least two, but I've decided that I really need to be more selective. That's not to say the SAR8 isn't a beautiful knife -- I think it's more appealing than the upcoming batch of Mistresses, although I plan to pass on them too. I haven't appreciated what I already have, except for bragging rights about what I own, because I'm so focused on what to buy next.
I got a fortune cookie a few months ago that summed up my collecting habits: "It's not the having; it's the getting." I've said that I need to cut back before, but then I have a panic attack about falling behind, and load up on another order. I've felt calmer than normal for about a week, and I think it relates to retreating from being quite so knife acquisitive.
