I don't know how we survived before all these "super" steels. 1095, 440C, 420HC, S7, and 52100 all seem to work fine for me if they have a good heat treatment. INFI is a fantastic steel, and I love my Busses, but honestly, I don't really need it most of the time. I have to pick and choose when buying Busses because of the expense. I have been saving up for a Bushwacker. Just exactly why I think I need an INFI camp machete, I can't say, but I want one.
