Interesting that 154CM did so well, It seems to have fallen behind steels like D2 and especially S30V recently. I have been researching more pocket type knives in recent years which may be the reason I see more other steels. I see that steels like S30V are "powder made" steels. I'm not sure what that means? I am guessing it has to do with a faster manufacturing process.

I assume that all the Busse knives get a similar heat treating cycle. If that is the case then I imagine the steels they choose respond well to their preferred tempering process. Does 154CM seem to respond especially well to Busse heat treating?
