I'm sorry I didn't mention it earlier KnifeGuy, but I was trying to keep things on the topic of chopping blades.

I already have a 5' telescoping pole saw with a 14" blade (it'll get 7" branches up to 15' in the air) .

I guess I'm specifically trying to find the best chopping blade for the job at hand, if I'm not in a hurry it's nice to have some variety, right?
Given the stated impressions of a good thick machete, I'm all in on this "Mutt-chete" people keep mentioning.
If it's the ultimate chopper, I don't see a downside.
