I happen to own a Tormek Super Grind 2000. This "grinder" rotates a circular wheel through a water bath, just about eliminating any heating issues. I have several sharpening/grinding Tormek jigs including one specifically for knife sharpening. Since the wheel is round it does make an edge with a slight hollow grind. I doubt my grinder would be good for making major changes to a blade but I was wondering whether I might for instance: grind a false edge on the top of my knife, place a little more curve in the belly of the blade, create a finner edge.....

I am not actually thinking about making any changes to my soon to arrive knife at this point. I would certainly use the knife as it arrives for a while to see how well it works for me as is. I am just wondering if some do make changes if they find they want to use the knife for jobs that the blade design does not excel at?

Cutting up,

Mick
