MR, I am sure you will like the handles.

The Double/top quillion is no doubt a subjective opinion. Some will like it and some won't. All I can do is tell you my own personal views on things.

I don't like the top quillions for "My" uses, my preferences and various hand holds.

But, yes, other than the top quillion, I do think the new Regulator handle is QUITE AWESOME. And trying to be objective, I honestly have to believe that most people will LOVE the new handle - Not including different views on the guard single/double guard. The new handle shape (not including guard) is VERY versatile and I think it should feel good in most any size or shape hand!

But, with Dan offering a solution for the top quillion that mostly makes the new handle at least as good as old Res-C handles, I think many should be happy with what Dan offered here.

Personally, I would still like the choil to wrap around with just about a 1/4" of steel in front of the lower guard. But, I don't think that is a deal-breaker either.

Maybe future offerings will have a slightly smaller version of the good old Camp Tramp choil/guard, but imagine with the new Regulator handle!:

*** Big irony for me here: But, generally, I have always had a big preference for rounded choils. And I might still prefer the function of the newer rounded choil. But, in some ways I was actually quite fine with the flat choil on the TT. Because, truthfully, in some ways, the lower portion of the Regulators Res-C guard isn't conducive as a choke up choil grip point. In other words, I don't feel the Regulators lower guard fits in the index finger well when choked up. Basically, it could just be a bit better for fit and feel if intended for choking up.

I think a little bit of steel - about 1/4" (a little less than most older Res-C steel guards) and a rounded guard might help. Also, as Dan has shown to others here on this thread and something I have mentioned multiple times (including enlarging the grip area on the handle of the DM and other modifications), Res-C CAN be modified to suit individual preferences. Everyone's hands are different. So, Dan can't please everyone. Although, the Regulator does have a LOT of genericl simple and just plain awesome ergos that WORK and should work for most hand shapes and sizes quite well IMO.

Thanks RN. I have been lurking a bit here and there, but felt I need to focus on some other things rather than spend so much time typing as I have been known to do.
