A $50 discount for a naked Scrapizashi is an intriguing possibility, Ishikawa. I might even be willing to buy one at that price. But I sure wouldn't count on it.
Seems like a reasonable option. Would save the shop time (if its not wanted), allow flexibility to the owner (since it's not a warrantied part), and help reduce the costs (depending on what the owner wanted in an end product).
