As some of you may remember, I recently got a new JYD from Kershaw. Mine is just so stiff, there is no way I will ever trust it for EDC. I have worked it and worked it. I have graphited the action. It's just never going to reliably open with one hand. I have read the instructions and practiced for hours. I have at least average ability in these things. This one is just not right, I guess. I'll give it to some one I don't like at Christmas. So I went on a quest for a fast AO EDC. I got a Camillus Heat, and a Kershaw Speed Bump.

These knives are fast! The Heat is really fast, but it takes quite a bit of pressure on the flipper to deploy. Good thing, too, as it has no safety. Nice little knife. But I already knew the Heat would work. I have handled them before. The Kershaw is the big surprise. At first, I could not get it to deploy.
Then I found the safety on the right side of the handle. This thing is smooth as glass and requires about half the effort to open as the Heat does.

Mission Accomplished! Two new fast EDCs!
