Actually, she hadn't met ANY military guys. I had a buddy who is now married to this Korean girl that he was dating at the time - we would always get way away from the places where most of the GI's went and explore Korea - often times we were technically AWOL because of the distances we went from post (and for not being back in by curfew, etc.) She had a car, so we could go aaaanywhere we wanted. The beach was a frequent stop.
