Monday night I ordered a Jetbeam PA01 1aa flashlight off amazon. I got it Friday!

It's about 3.5 inches long, around 3/4 inch diameter. Operates by a (stiff) clickie switch in the tail and it will stand up to operate in "candle mode".

Has three brightness levels plus strobe (which is why I got it, the strobe could come in useful to me).

LOW= 6 lumens for 32 hours
MED= 65 lumens for 3.25 hours
HI= 140 lumens for 90 minutes
Strobe= 140 lumens for 3 hours

So far just playing around it with it here at work I like it. It gives a good amount of light on med to look around under desks, in cabinets, etc. On high it will allow you to walk around in the woods or from a wreck up to the Highway if you need to. And on Low it would make a good reading or "Comfort" light. Plus it will provide light to see around in your home without disturbing others and without any other lights needing to be turned on.

I DO wish it was another AAA like my Maratec because of it's smaller size, but I like the extra lumens and extended run time, something that could be VERY useful in an emergency. Plus running on just one aa battery, you shouldn't have problems finding something to feed it anywhere.

Oh and the strobe, it will prove useful for calling attention to yourself at night or if you are working a wreck, something I have done from time to time considering what I do for a living PLUS it can become a distraction device.

Even though it is bigger than I really like for an EDC and the tail switch is harder to depress than I would like all in all I really like it and hopefully it will provide me years of service just like my little aaa Maratec has, but on an even greater level. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
