Sooo, after the workout with the choppers,I went on a fatwood hunt.
And baged a bag full.
What better knife for fatwood harvesting than the dog father.(and a saw <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />).
I remember this stump from past years, but didn't realize the benefits of fatwood till I joined this great forum & saw all of bushman's & pit's posts about it.

I found an old stump right behind the fire pit at camp that had some fatwood in it.(see the brown blob right behind the fire.)

It is very old & dry,but the sap is still sap & I started my first matchless fire with it last year.
This new batch is much fresher & stickier.
And smells sooooo good.
The poor dog father got pretty sappy harvesting this stuff.
It took some pretty rough scrubbing to get all the sap off.
I can't wait to go camping again & try this new batch out with the fero rod.

After the fatwood,I tried to find some morrel shrooms.
I only found a few small ones, not worth taking yet.

I don't know what kind of flowers these are,but I thought they would be nice to show.

Found an old friend that didn't make it through the winter.
I could always find a morrel or two at the base of this big boy.Not today.

And a nice little stream by another of my morrel hunting areas.
