Nice pictures, wondering if you baton with that DF. I found that I get a lot of vibration batoning. I'm looking forward to a new chopper with micarta handle.

I haven't felt the vibration while batoning with any of my res c handled knives.
It's hard to understand how micarta scales are going to feel better when res c or any rubber is a natural shock absorber.
Sorry it bothers you the way it does.
I'm thinking maybe you need to grip the DF harder as you strike the spine with the baton?
If you are gripping the handle loosly(just holding the DF in place)then striking the forward part of the spine,the handle will be forced into your hand.
Maybe that's what's causing your discomfort?,just a thought.
Don't give up on the DF,it's one of the best choppers out there & begs to be beat upon.
I don't think micarta scales are going to feel any better though,probably worse even.
