Horndog used to strip em all the time (then he got married <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> ) and he did a really nice job. He'd remove all the coating then get to work on the shiny and smooth with his 3rd World Belt Sander!

Understand that coating is a protect-ant, even when it's scratched and worn it keeps the steel from rusting and wearing and it looks kinda unique (they are made to work hard not look pretty).

and don't expect smooth n perdy underneath! nono sometimes you'll find grooves and lines and pots.

I remember when Dan first made Dogfather LE's and all the work he had to do to make em perdy (shiny smooth), their is a reason they (LE) are more expensive! he said he's never doing that again lol

your blade your choice just remember you might find you'll have more work on your hands after the coatings are off and your getting rid of some good protection.
