The 711 fits perfectly in a leather SOD sheath but is a little "loose" in a kydex SOD sheath. The 711 has a shorter "belly" (cutting edge to spine). Otherwise, the blade thickness (across the spine), profile, etc is very similar. The handles seem virtually identical. I do like the the ramp on the SOD. My final analysis is: the 711 is a great design. I prefer the SOD by a slight margin, but I've not yet used them side by side. I honestly don't think there will be much performance difference so my preference is based on something I rail against all the time: choosing gear based upon aesthetics. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbdn.gif" alt="" /> Regarding SR77 vs SR101: I've literally beat each and don't see a lot of strength difference. The SR77 seems to be a little more corrosion resistant, but the SR101 takes a keener edge. JYD #123 The great one formerly known as Architect.
