If you are looking for a bigger bag. The internal frame Kelty Redwing 3100's can be found cheaper if you look at last years models. I picked mine up for 50 bucks a few years ago. It is big enough to back more than you need for a 3 day camping trip and is adjustable and fairly well built.

I go the same route with day packs. I have a camel back Alpine that I use for day hikes and I got the previous year model for 40 bucks. You have to do a bit of searching but you can get get some good deals. This time of year through April can be a great time to find a deal on last years cool gear.

I buy good gear but no need to break the bank to get this years color combo. Save your money for what goes inside your pack.
