GC, don't bet me wrong, I LIKE the mudders, but personally I feel they can be sort of limiting in the gripability department. They do feel really nice in the hand, but only (for me at least) in a couple grips. The normal grip and the reverse or icepick grip. Not the "Basic" grip style appears to be more conducive to a multitude of grip options. I don't know if Dan has had any design experience, but he sure knows what works!
