I'll put it this way. SR101 is a superior steel to SR77. It gets sharper and stays sharper longer. Not that there is anything wrong with SR77, but SR101 is even better. I chopped down large trees with my Waki. It's some tough steel. I am not surprised that it costs a bit more. I don't think anyone who buys the new scrappers in SR101 will ever be disappointed. Some of my very favorite knives are Swamp Rats in that steel. My 2 cents.
