I know charles may uses it alot, but I don't know what technically sets it apart. Definitely better corrosion resistance...almost as good as a stainless ! Great edge holding, maybe a touch better than SR101 !!! So it gives up a bit of toughness then. Any idea how much? You know what the knife industry needs...some ratio that measures toughness to hardness so that there is a comparitive metric which can be used to see where steels fall on a sliding scale. Something akin to Young's Modulus. It's interesting that none of the manufacturer's ever use Young's Modulus to compare their blades...it's a different measurement, but I'm certain it could be related back to edge holding capability and toughness.
