I know charles may uses it alot, but I don't know what technically sets it apart. D2 has 14.00% Chromium iirc. Making it 1% from "stainless" steel, and also providing good wear resistance. The CPMD2 I have used has held an edge well. And the times it has come into contact with other metal I couldn't see any edge deformation whatsoever. I have heard its prone to chipping ect but then I have heard that alot with S30V and never experienced it myself. Bussekin, the trinity of toughness. JYD #130
