you MIGHT want to consider Pelican cases or Otterboxes for SOME things. Pouches, a LOT of manufacturers. You Might want to check out Optics Planet for some pouches that don't cost an arm and a leg but seem to be good for storing things inside a bag.
Those hard cases are good for very fragile gear but they add up on weight so use accordingly.
And any time you get people thinking is a good thing so no wasted post flux!
