As I began to write a reply on what I feel is the true meaning of Memorial Day, I realized that I don’t possess the writing talent to convey those feelings to those that have never lived the life or been closely associated to those that we honor on this one day of the year. The sense of loss, frustration, terror, boredom (lots and lots of boredom), camaraderie, and pride that are part of the everyday life of a Soldier/Airman/Seaman/Marine that serves in a war time environment is difficult to describe in words.
Perhaps the best course of action would be to say thanks to the serviceman and women, but save your prayers and comfort for those that truly bear the brunt of their sacrifice, the parents, spouses, and the children.


Remember this: Everytime I blink, you disappear.
