I used to use the otter box with the strop similar to the one pictured. Now I just use the dmt diafolds blue to tan and loaded strop I made all stuffed into a maxpedition pouch. Seems to handle most tasks except major chips to the blade which I seldom get.
For major chips you can use the black DMT, and then on to blue-tan and you're covered too.
