Ever meet those who join all the right clubs, churches, and civic groups? They love attention. They love telling everyone else how to live and give each other various awards. Always the same people. The problem with electing our overlords is that the type of person who seeks such power is the last person you would want to have it. I liked Jim Hightowers idea (I think he was the first with it)- to have all elected officials wearing jackets like nascar drivers with donor names so you knew who had the vested interest...
