What did I do today to prepare?
 1) Stayed up very late last night making final decisions as to which guns I want to keep and which I want to sell. This has been a thoroughly vetted process, but I wanted to make sure that my "pruning" didn't leave me with any voids in my defenses.

 2) Finalized my shotgun research, and had one last discussion with my wife about which "wing gun" I wanted/needed. I selected a Benelli M2 Field. I knew where a great deal could be had so this morning I fought the Black Friday crowds to pick it up. The new SG is sitting next to me as I type. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

 3) Went through my safe, and checked my firearms for signs of rust. Wiped everything down with LSA.

 4) Went through all of my ScrapYard & SwampRat knives, and gave them a liberal coat of LSA.

 5) Started to form fit the kydex insert inside a SpecOps Combat Master (Short) to one of my 511's.

 6) While I had stuff out of my safe, I took pictures of the guns I want to sell. I also started writing ads for online.

 7) I cleaned my new Benelli, and all of the guns I took to my uncle's Thanksgiving Dinner. My family typically has a "show and tell" sort of side show for those of us that are gun enthusiasts. This year there were two FAL's, one BCM MidLength AR15, one PTR91 (G3), one Sig556, one AR101, one Kahr CM9, two HK USP45's, one Sig Sauer P228, and one Sig Sauer P220SAO.

Did some reading.
Added some fuel additive to the auxillary tank in case the weather gets cold. A full tank of fuel can save your life or someone elses.

Very true, always good to have a full tank just in case!

Very true, always good to have a full tank just in case! I take it further than most people... 36 gallomn aux tank in the bed of the truck. With it and a full tank I should be able to go 850 miles at slow or highway speeds. If I drove 40 and 50 mph I could go over a 1000.

Today I got some suture kits and medical supplies. Have you ever thought about getting a staple setup? Much quicker and easier than sewing yourself or friend up. | | |

Picked up 4 cases of bottled water. I am going to be sure and keep no less than 2 on hand.
Went to the gym(long term survival prep).

1) Read this and other posts
 2) Worked out
 3) added extra pair of glasses to my BOB
 4) I live in an urban envoroment and discovered an alternate "on foot" route if the roads and freeways get to crowded. Its a pretty good one, and has been invisible to me until a neighbor pointed it out. I will walk it many times to get to know it better.

Found out we've got a gunshop in my home town now. Going to get a V rear sight and bead front put on my Glock 17. I also THINK (depending on what is said in the filter/purifier section of the outdoors thread) I am going to order a Sawyer water filter/purifier system. I really need something besides the Emergency straws.
