Yup, that's a bit more expensive.

I'm just wanting something simple and small to put in the pack so IF we needed to we could fix something. Patty has to eat at certain times (or real close to it) or she gets sick and has the shakes. We try and plan for it and mostly do pretty well, but sometimes it will happen when we aren't expecting it. I'm gonna carry some "Energy bars" but sometimes something like Ramen noodles work pretty good.

I keep one of these in my hunting pack
You can also burn twigs and small sticks in them

I've seen those before and wondered how they would work with wood.

Problem is I don't know if we would ever use it, but it would be nice to have.

Patty can some times feel the "Attack" coming on and If we can get something into her quickly enough it won't get to the point where she actually gets sick and shaking. I'm gonna have to do some more research. Question, can you leave alcohol in the Trangia for a pretty long time?

I mean the wood stove would be needed to house the trangia anyway, so that might be the way to go. We'd have the alcohol stove for faster response and the wood burner if we had the time or just wanted a wood fire.

I have also used a coglan's folding stove with candles, sterno and my Trangia stove

All this combined with what I already have should set me up pretty good. Now just to figure out how to attach it and what to take out of the pack!

Well, the Knife and Leatherman can come off the pack and onto a belt. That's probably where they should be anyway. And MAYBE that is also where the IFAK should be. I'm beginning to think that I need THREE bags!

One for just the BARE BASICS for a small (say half day MAX) hike. This, if done right, would work for my GHB since I only work about 14-15 miles from home.
Another Intermediate one for More Gear/GHB. And a Third (Maybe my TT 3 day Assault pack will work) for a BOB. I'm starting to get a headache. wink
