Serious answer: Dan's heat treat is a tried and true method involving heating the blades using only ashes from the finest cigars. Similar to Busse Combat knives, they are then slowly cooled using a special whiskey to which only the busse family knows how to make.

Really serious answer: The first word in your subject answers your question. It is proprietary and kept under close guard. Very little is known about it, other than that it is a slow process and does involve cryo quenching.

The really important things is that the blades are all performance and no hype!

Off course that's all that really matters, still it's fun to guess how they do it.

On a serious note, it has been mentioned that ONE component in Jerry's heat treat protocol for Infi involves the dry air cryo quench. The blades are slowly cooled to extremely cold temperatures using air and not a liquid in order to reduce stresses in the blade. Amazing what you can find in the BF Busse archives! A lot or reading though!
