How is it compared to a 45/70 power wise I have a single shot available in my area and I have been thinking about it.

.375H&H leaves 45/70 in the dust. The 45/70 IS a great bush rifle and there is not much on the planet you cannot take with one if you bear in mind it's limitations. The H&H round was devised as the all round African round, you can take planes game "well out there" and Buff etc in where it counts. There are round that fill both needs individually BETTER than the H&H but few that are so versitile.

HH is more versatile as it can b downloaded to .30-06 levels an up.

I have a .300H&H that I've considered having rebarreled for .375.
