Hmmmmm maybe a half dozen. They last long enough I forget when I put the last one in. Is it a trijicon no but it cost 1/10th the price and gives 75% of the performance.

Nice! That's actually the scope I started off looking at when I decided to scope my 527. Was the one I saw most recommended when I searched.

Are those the CZ rings?

Can't win...

The other night I looked through the Mueller while walking through a several rooms. When I walked into a fairly dim room the haze I was talking about washed over everything. It does this even at the lower settings. It did this at a point when you would really want the red dot feature the most. It was dim enough that irons and the scope reticle would be worthless and the dot would be ideal. While you could see the dot just fine as well as make out objects through the lens the lens was covered with a red haze that was worse in some areas. best I can explain is the lens looked "dirty" inside. Like there was a film covering the lens that was retracting the red light. It only got worse when the illumination got brighter.

Also... I just mounted my Vortex Viper and noticed the reticke was skewed. The vertical line is fine but apparently the horizontal line gets higher from left to right. I couldn't really tell at first but once I tried to center the scope it became fairly obvious. I also lined the reticle bars up with several 90 degree angles and it was more than obvious this scope has a problem I guess I could live with it but I'm not going to.

I guess I get to test the warranty with both of these companies next week. This has me a bit perturbed because I was really thinking about finally getting to the range tomorrow.

It really bugs me that companies would pawn this stuff off on consumers and even more so that (if they knew) people would sell this stuff to others. In going to stop here before I start ranting...

Oh and I did try to purchase another Mueller scope last weekend but they had swapped inventory. I was told they had more in stock but they never called me back. At the price I would've tried again hoping I got a dude. At this point I just want to know what Mueller has to say.

That stinks on the Vortex, you put in your time hunting that. Hope the warranty treats you right!

Okay, so an odd thing just happened. I mounted an old Burris 3-9x32 to an old Marlin 30/30 and when I went to level it out I noticed the reticle was skewed.

So yes, you are probably thinking the same thing I am thinking. It's my eyeball! Well not really. It appears my glasses are causing the reticle to appear skewed. I guess I just haven't noticed this since these are fairly new glasses and when I look through scopes most times they aren't mounted and I'm not attempting to level the reticle.

So I guess I can take back the comments on the Vortex Viper 2-7x32. I just wished I had figure this out before taking it out the rings earlier today. I had it mounted perfectly!

I guess I will start looking into some eyeglasses more suited to shooting.

...And while I like the Warne rings they are a pain to mount. You have to have your scope and all your screws in place before you place them on the rifle. Once everything is on the scope you line everything up on the rifle. You really wouldn't want to get into swapping a bunch of scopes with these rings. I plan to mount this viper and never take it out of these rings again.
