I carry a big blade and a folding saw with me in all the cars, all the time. It seems like everytime it rains around here, a twenty foot tree slides off the mountainside and lands in the road. My forearm and my vehicular slalom skills are getting a pretty good workout.
Patty and I were out at Mingo one day this week after a "Blow" the night before. Along one point a tree had blown down across the road wedging itself into another on the other side of the road. It wasn't low enough to impede traffic but the smaller limbs and leaves made it almost impossible to get through. SO out came the 911 and 10 minutes later there was a "Tunnel" through the branches large enough for our truck to pass. I called it good enough and we continued on our journey. THIS is the reason I carry the 911 and sometimes the 1311 every time we go there.
