I was talking to our paper service deputy yesterday and he bought a crossbreed holster for his 3.3 inch XDs. He said he would let me borrow it for a few days to see if I would like it or not. I've heard good things about them. One of our city cops has one for his CCW kahr 1911 and a CCW instructor carries an FN 5.7 in his.

Man, that 5.7 is light, even with a full mag!

OK, here is another take on these, originally called Ashley Express Sights. I first heard about them MANY MANY years ago. This is my favorite type of sight on any kind of firearm. AND if your eyes aren't what they used to be, you will be surprised how much your shooting can improve over the conventional square notch rear sights. http://www.officer.com/article/10757262/have-a-look-sight-systems-24-7-big-dot

One last post to bore you with. This perhaps showcases the express sight concept better than any other that I've found so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQVCeJ103BQ

I'm considering adding an Express to my AK, since the rear notch I have won't zero on my .223. Thanks for the info Randy!

Those are great for a fast flash front sight picture. And they are accurate enough.

Different strokes kind of thing. If my near vision ever starts to go i will go to something like this.
Until then I just do a whole bunch of dry firing and that takes care of most issues people worry with about sights.
I found a website with online drills that I like enough to buy a yellow barrel so I don't shoot my TV.
I spend at least 15 minutes a day doing dry fire drills. It definitely makes a difference when I confirm my training with live ammo.

I used to dry fire more than I do now. Now I'm just trying to find time to eat a square meal between work and school...

I have always (as long as I have been shooting handguns) had a hard time centering the front sight in the rear. Now with "Buckhorn", or more accurately Shallow V rear and bead front I don't have a problem. And as I have gotten older the problem has gotten harder to correct.
