Want flat and long shooting with a great ballistic coefficient? Get something chambered in 25-06 117-120 grains will drop em in their tracks at 2-300 yards every time.

338 seemed like a great idea on paper, but I'm wary of cartridges that only one manufacturer makes a round for. Almost pulled the trigger on one (so to speak), but never regretted not doing so. As you can tell, I have nothing constructive to add here

Nope, I agree but the thought of a long range compact lever action makes me drool. Remmington also made the round but may have stopped because I see all the online stores dont have any in stock.

Same brother has a Tikka in 300 wsm and it is his go to moose gun More info... I shouldered bot and they both felt great. I like the smooth action on the Tikka but the X Bolt felt more robust and I like the rotary mag. The Tikka should be more accurate out of the box but paper target is just that. In the field either should hit gold at 200 yards.

Didn't Savage make a 243 lever back in the day?

And Browning currently makes one. They even have a takedown model.
