Anticipating recoil?

Didn't sound right to me, but if I covered the target with the front sight I was good to go.

Morning Todd! One thing that I do when qualifying is that I DO NOT try for X ring accuracy. I try to be on the target and let them land where then land. I am more interested in torso hits than shooting the wings off a gnat at 50 yards. I probably need to change this mindset and work on my "Bulls eye" shooting and THEN just let them hit where they hit.

Accuracy is more important than speed.

HOLY Packed load! I just took the top round out of my magazine so I could magazine chamber a snap cap. The round is more than 1/8 inch shorter than the others! It is a Speer gold dot that has been pushed so far down into the case that the case is actually above where the round starts to taper to a point!

Yeah I realized that shooting at 7 yards. Before it was all at 25 and 15 yards.

I hardly ever shoot my pistols at more than 25 feet. I figure that IF I ever have to use them, it'll be up close and personal.

I can certainly shoot farther if need be though, but my main practice is close in.

I qualified with the sheriff's dept one time just on a lark, and shot a 92 despite never shooting their course of fire before. It includes off hand and 25 yard stuff, neither of which I had ever practiced before.
