I guess mine is still my old Negrito Hunting Bolo. Maybe because I have had it since 1975 or '76!

What did yo think of that purple and black handle blade I sent? Don't worry about hurting my feelings, I want an honest appraisal of it.

I still have a Boy Scout sheath knife that I found on our 8th grade graduation trip.

It still has the original sheath; I figure that the previous owner just stuck it in his back pocket instead of wearing it on his belt. It will eventually go to TKV when he gets older.

That will be a nice "Pass along", specially when you explain the back story.
I was talking to Derek the other day and said something about needing to start looking for a "Youth rifle" in 22 for Bennett. I figure a single shot bolt action. Patty said something and Derek said that it would be fine for me to get him a little 22 rifle for when he gets older and responsible enough to handle one. I think I will also give him a SYKCO. Maybe the Mud Mutt. A good blade for a kid (I hope) and some good history to go with it.

Nice idea! This past summer all three grandkids got a thrill from shooting my Marlin .22....a REAL rifle. It's actually too long and heavy for them, but I think they will like the Ruger 10-22 that I bought after Black Friday. They were VERY attentive and respectful of the rifle, and I took only one kid at a time to shoot. They loved it!

I had thought about my 10-22 but then thought better of it. I think a SS where they only have one shot at a time will be better for "Training" and also instill a need for accuracy.

Yeah I had thought of that as well, but if I went the SS route and then the 10-22 he would have TWO rifles!

Good thinking! There are several inexpensive SS .22's out there.
