What kind of restrictions do you have up there on Handguns?

10 round maximum magazines
25 and 32 calibers are prohibited
barrel lengths of 105mm and shorter are prohibited
safe storage laws
Allowed to be shot only at approved ranges
RPAL permit required that must be renewed every 5 years
Background check Everytime you purchase a pistol
All pistols are registered

Self protection is not a legal reason to purchase a pistol
Armed security is allowed for such things as armored cars
Some professions such as prospectors or trappers can get a wilderness protection permit
A friend of mine has 2
1 for a 22 that is only to be used for dispatching animals in a trap
1 for a 454 casual that can only be used for predator protection

OK, 10 rounds I can see but DO NOT agree with it.
25 and 32 acp prohibited? Sounds stupid to me.
Roughly 2 inch barrels prohibited, again sounds stupid to me

Yeah we've got some dumb laws/restrictions here as well.

We here in the States gripe and complain as much or more than other folks. BUT we most of the time (Unless we've been/lived outside the States) don't truly know how fortunate we really are in so many ways.

Just heard a retired General say we (The western world, the U.S. specifically) needs to declare GWARI (Gee War ee) on radical Islamic terrorist (ANY terrorists actually) and quit pussyfooting around until they kill another several thousand people. I can agree with this.
