I have no issues with this business decision. Looking forward to the future offerings limited or otherwise.

Dan,
Your business, your rules. I don't think you owe anyone an apology. But I do appreciate you being involved in this forum, and think it is what makes it different from the rest of the family.
I remember a time when you wanted to get to the point of having a large, medium, and small knife available consistently. Well, I guess the grass isn't always greener. I don't know. But I do know that if you aren't happy doing it, then you should change.
The old-new model might be hard for newcomers to get, but once they do am I sure the addiction will be as strong as ever. I look forward to the new designs and hope I can score some. Let the games begin.
My only regret is that you had this epiphany during the run of the 11-11. I wish it was around longer. I would have like to have scored a tan one or two at store price.
When I have a SY I know I have one of the toughest knives around on my hip- just don't change that.
Thanks Dan!

New dog.. well, puppy.. here so take it for what it's worth. If you're happy with what you're selling and present it as such we'll buy them and you'll do well. No apologies needed or anything like that. Personally, I think my 11-11 and 13-11 which is currently at the shop are some of the finest choppers I've ever held. Add another 3/8" or 1/2" to the handle and holy cow. Perfect.

As a paycheck to paycheck guy, like I assume most people are, I would hope to have a somewhat broad avenue of acquirement. I'd be sad as hell if an 1111 with another 1/2" handle was offered when property taxes were due.

I think this is awesome news!

One of the amazing things about SYKCO is that it isn't just your typical "store". So many things have been done differently here that really separates Dan from the rest. The fact the founder regularly interacts with us, heck even socializes with us. The fact he actively listens to feedback and model suggestions from us. The Yard never really felt like a business as much as a bunch of friends with common interests hanging out.

Anyway, huge thumbs up to the return to the roots of this place. smile
