The 311 has been out for a while. Any of you guys use one a lot? Anyone use it as a primary knife while out and about? I'm looking at smaller knives for hiking and I gotta say I love res-c and sr101. Just wanted to get opinions on it. Thanks.

Not sure if this opinion is of value to you: I have the 411 and use that as a primary sometimes. Same blade stock but I prefer the handle and blade length.
The 311 would make a great hiking knife. It has the smaller weight and package size.

Yeah I thought about the 411. I just really hate choils on small knives. On my 711 it's great. Just not on small knives. Truth be told I'm looking at the 311 to scratch my sr101 itch.  I've been waiting for the right knife but it either hasn't shown up or I missed it. If only I bought used knives...

the handle on the 311 is a bit small for some people but i LOVEEEEEE the 411

I think the 311 is a great little blade...!!!!!! I have several and one gets a good bit of time on my belt !

I use the 311 a lot and I'm really fond of the knife.
Like you I like the choil on my 711 but don't really need them on my smaller blades.
I have thinned and convexed the edge on my 311 as it suited my needs better than the original edge, YMMV.

I'd like to see the 311 with a super thin blade, maybe a 3/32" thickness.

PITMAN, good to hear from you again! Hope everything is going well for you and yours. Thanks buddy, last year was not too kind to me actually, I'm currently undergoing treatment for a brain tumor !  I only have just over a week of treatment left so hopefully I'll be back to hitting the hiking trails soon !
