You have to be very methodical in solving Busse riddles.
a popular handle: Res. C
.150" to .200" thick: Skinny
made of 5160 steel: ?
Led with the crescent: Has a choil
hung as needed: comes with a sheath
for the hunter: not too long
for clearing a path: not too short
My guess is a skinny 811 with choil and sheath. although I never guess correctly so maybe its a Kukri. This would be awesome! If its an 8-11 I hope its .200" thick> Dan said between .15 and .20, .15 ago is OK on the smaller blades I NEVER guess right either. Dans choil isn't really a crescent MM I'm guessing that the crescent would indicate a recurve..

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if you don't take it out and use it, it's going to rust.

Because of the 5160 steel, I gotta believe that we are talking about some kind of big hard use knife in the 3/16" range.
I would love to see an edge about 10 inches long with a full flat grind.

I'd love a Khukri full convexed grind with a zero edge now that equals perfection
