The polish is cool but what really stands out to me is the flat grind and especially the sharpened back clip. I plan to do that exact mod to my new Hook Guard(just the sharp clip not the flat grind). I think I will use my Lansky to set the angle but do most of the grinding on my beltgrinder or it would take years to grind all that steel off. Any tips or suggestions?

I started on mine today, inspired by Bill's. I've been through 3 belts so far. You would be amazed how rough it is under that crinkle coat. I hope to finish mine tomorrow. Lotta grinding!

Bill that is just incredible! How to turn a Dumpster Mutt into a fighter in 3 easy belts?

3 belts? I only used two Whenever using grinding equipment on your knives use SHARP belts and light pressure. Dunk the blade often and do not wear gloves as they will mask heat build up. I worked slow with brand new belts and the blade wasn't allowed to heat up. 1 pass on the belt then dunk. Takes longer but it leaves the heat treat intact. No sense rushing and at best ending up with a cool paperweight.

Life is a grindstone. Whether it grinds you down or polishes you, depends on what you're made of

Two of my belts were used. I wasn't really sure what I was doing, but I kept the blade cool. Mine isn't as radical or straight as yours, but I am pleased with it. This is the first time I have gone beyond sharpening and clip point making. Thanks for the tips and the information, Bill. Your are far more skilled than I.
