You made a good choice then MB because the Ecodrives are pretty much the best bang for your buck solar watch out there.

I have a Ecodrive I use on some deployments and as a everyday beater. It has seen some rough times and keeps on ticking (Stolen slogan).

The only problem that I have with an Eco Drive is that the nonmetallic bands don't last as long as the watch does. So I took out my wife's sewing machine (she NEVER uses it) and mad a few custom straps from nylon webbing. Great solution to that problem!

Man, this thread reminded me that I haven't worn a watch since 2003. I must be really behind the times.

I ordered a couple composite bands and I caved an bought a Seiko Automatic watch that should he delivered sometime soon.

I think the internet has cost me way to much money because of "saving money" on good deals.

I'm up in the air between an entry level G Shock or Eco Drive Strap. I prefer simple analogs, but like having an alarm too.

I have to say I am impressed with the eco-drive watch. It looks pretty good and keeps time very well.

Very nice on the Zulu band.

I decided to start inexpensive, since I wasn't sure I'd continue to wear it, but this is my new timepiece. Photo is a little hazy, couldn't get the phone to cooperate.

The casing is wood, and the watchface is faux ebony.
