I try to not own tools that can't work at least as hard as I work/abuse myself, hence the 1311 and Kubota M59 make a solid pair for turning a 10 acre forested clay mountainside into a sloping pasture a little at a time. I just hit 1000 hrs on the M59 yesterday and I can count at least 40 hours of use with just that 1311. I went through a lot of blade testing before the 1311 dethroned the basic 11 for tractor duty. If an INFI 1311 comes out, I'll buy it in a heartbeat, but until then, I don't have anything that keeps up with the 1311 for the ability to leave a chainsaw off the tractor. Most of the time I dig up, push over or pull trees with this powerful little 9000lb beast of a backhoe instead of leaving an ugly stump. The 1311 then takes over to de-limb, de-crown, de-root and brush clear along with many other random tasks. I will try to post some pics of before & after soon.

Andy, I wasn't trying to derail your thread, just add 1311 content. Your pics make me wonder if you got everything all cleaned up yet and if you needed a tractor to speed it up? Glad your area was not hit too hard. smile

Well, now I need to find the pics the wife took from when my 1311 thought it was a rat and went for a dive, unfortunately along with myself, in the septic tank to clear out two huge root ball stoppages a couple months back. Not one of my favorite moments, but the 1311 saved the day and it was still better than sandbox latrine duties.

I still haven't found those pics, but I have some pics of fenceline preparation work. Here you see me turning a freshly pulled down douglas fir tree into a long improvised root/anchor to keep the clay slope from sliding off down the slope when wet in spring thaw. I had to delimb, decrown and shorten the tree to the right length to fit in the space I wanted it, then backfill over it with the backhoe. The whole tree got buried in two sections, these pictures just show the top being processed, the whole tree was about 70' long to start.

Backfill, you can see the rootball from the bottom half close to bottom of pic and the slope I am trying to keep from mudsliding in spring.
