It was well worth the wait and the money. My new Hooker7 better known as the Hook Guard showed up today and I freakin love it. There has not been a scrapper that I did not like but other than my beloved SS4 this new 7 inch recurve is now replacing my M6 and my DF. It feels like it can chop a lot better than the M6 and according to my rough calculations there is only 1 and a half inches more of blade
ahead of the balance point on the DF than the Hook(a little less probably on the Yardie). This means that the little hooker will chop better than a knife that size should.

I have the SS4 as a EDC but I have been looking for the perfect do it all big sheath knife that can be used as both a fighter and a survival bowie especially while camping on my motorbike this summer. I had considered my M6 but it did not have enough chopping power and the handle was to big for my small hands.
The DF is a near perfect survival bowie but not a great fighter and is to big for
for comfortable carry. I think the new recurve is going to be a great comprimise with the best parts of the M6 and the DF.

I can't wait to get a nice sheath. I will probably get a concealex(like kydex but better) sheath from On Scene Tactical but does anyone know if the Hook will fit in a spec ops sheath?

Unsub,
I am glad you like the knife. I love mine. So far, no disappointment for me with any of my scrapyard blade purchases.
Right now, I am toting mine in a sheath i made out of leather used to make harley saddle bags.

I love my SS4 and was really happy with the Mutt although I don't have as much use for it but [censored] that Hooker is good looking. I think it is the recurve and the hook that give it such flowing lines especially compared to the other Scrappers.
I can see why the Camp Tramp was so popular as this 7 inch blade is perfect.
Thanks Dan I finally got "the knife" I have really been searching for ever since I decided I wanted a good sidearm. I am going to reprofile the blade for a sharper edge and eventually I will sharpen the clip for back cuts.

I think everybody should get a Hooker at least once. If you decide you don't like her you can just sell it to someone else and make a few bucks.

My Yard Guard is sitting in a Spec-Ops sheath right now. Had to cut about 1/4" off the Kydex liner to make it fit, that raised thumb ramp where the hook would be prevented it from sitting low enough for the strap to work. I can't wait to take her to the bush, I also feel it will be a decent chopper and all around perfect camp knife. And lookin' good in the process.

So could you make the spec ops work with the Hooker?

Roo - I have been using the same type of leather - "Dangerous Threads"? It makes a nice sheath!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Tom

and... a heavy duty sheath.
It seems to impress the masses when you drop the 'harley' bit. The name does have magic connotations.
