That is a sweet score on the socks if they are yak fiber and funny JJ mentioned it, we are combing this years supply of all month as it breaks loose. Yak wool is very soft, warm and limited in availability. Since it is lightweight, we only get a few ounces off of each of ours every spring, so it takes a lot of yaks and a really cold winter to get a large quantity of it. They are fascinating animals to raise due to their many benefits meat, milk, wool, ride, pack, pull, efficient on feed, disease resistant, intelligent, curious, good with people and very good at deterring predators. I will say meat from the steer we just butchered is some of the sweetest, tastiest meat I have ever had, full of flavor to the point that an unseasoned red in the middle fillet tastes as if it is was cooked with a really yummy sauce similar to A-1.
