Realistically, something that long and thin sounds like it would not meet the warranty requirements for strength over the long haul with hard users. Unconditional warranty needs unconditional strength to match or the warranty will get expensive very quickly for the manufacturer. .18 is pretty thin and flexible already, much thinner... I'll pass. There are a lot of cheap machetes out there I would not feel bad destroying or losing in the environments where they are most needed (which I also tend to avoid). I will stick to the 1311 that works very well at these tasks but is tough enough to be beaten on too, and I don't have to wait for vaporware.

I've been wanting something like that for a long time. You can only hope someday they will come out with one.

I would go for a longer version of something similar to the 1311. Or a golok design.

I might hunt one up again but I let my 1311 go, it seemed to be in an awkward place between a chopper and a machete. The 1111 is a chopping beast, and a 14" or longer Tramontina is the heat in the hot sauce when it comes to being what a machete needs to be. ESEE and Fiddleback both have nicely handled machetes that seem to be very well regarded, the Yard could possibly do well to put something out to compete with those higher end machetes.
