Just sharpening my santoku getting ready to cut some pork and as the last stroke came across......DOH!! [Linked Image from i164.photobucket.com]

The blade in question.... [Linked Image from i164.photobucket.com]

Lucky my mom is a RN. 6 stitches later and a few shots of Lydocain to numb it.
Did I mention that I did have only 2 drinks when the error occured.

Don't ever drink and handle a weapon...they are entirely two different sports, so to speak and do not mix

OUCH!!

Glad it wasn't worse.

Lydocain hurts worse than the original cut or the stiches. I refuse to have anything to do with it. BTW - I made this decision when I was 6 or 7 and had my lower lip ripped open to my chin by a dog. The bite never hurt, but the Lydocain shots to numb it hurt like the devil. I swore to never let them do that again. When I smashed my face on lava rock in Hawaii I refused the Lydocain and had 130+ stitches without it. I never hurt at all, needle felt funny pulling the skin and all.

I should mention that I have a VERY high threshold for pain and even when I do feel it, I forget about it quickly. It's very odd.

Owe, I hate when I cut myself. Hopefully it heals up nice. The stiches look good.

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> Ummm....I'm going to go put on one of my wife's dresses now. I got a nasty cut last weekend (RD 7 jumped up and bit me). I taped it up and went on, not because I'm particularly tough, I'm just scared to death of needles!!! You Sir Ted are officically THE MAN!!!
