Tell me about it. Had it done in the Military. From the time I sat down in the chair until the time I got out of the chair with 4 less teeth, 30 minutes!

My bottom ones took more than 30 min each! For a time (when they were getting extracted) I even wished I didn't have teeth at all!

Believe me Cesar, it wasn't a cake walk. BUT nothing I could do about it. I DID feel it, just not as much as if they hadn't used any anesthesia.

Yikes. Wisdom teeth surgery is no joke. My Pop had his wisdom teeth removed when he was a teenager. Apparently, they sometimes grow back in rare circumstances... he just had it done again last year at age 65. I hope you heal up quickly! Ice cream and milkshakes!

I hope you heal quickly Mike! That's one surgery I haven't had to endure...I still have my wisdom teeth.

I had mine pulled last year when I was 36. I've been told all my life that they weren't causing any problems, even when I was in the military. For the last several years they have been causing some irritation inside both my cheeks. It was impossible for me to bite down without my wisdom teeth biting the insides of my cheeks, and I had sores from it that hadn't healed in about 5 years. I'm so glad I had them pulled.

Yeah no fun at all... I nearly ripped one of my own out, surgery was booked, it also had a cavity (that was not problematic)till two days before the surgery (public holidays as well)... I was awake for two full days and when the needle finally went in at the dentist it was the first time I had relaxed in that time... !!!

My dentist told me to keep them...I think the wisdom teeth removal or not is kind of a religious thing with no real proof

It all depends on if your jaws are big enough to accomodate them or not. If there is not enough room they will push your other teeth forward or out of alignment if not coming in crooked too. Now tonsils and snorkel snipping on the other hand are definitely more of a religious thing unless done for a medical problem. At least getting wisdom teeth removed with anesthesia takes a little bite out of the whole ordeal.
