Was talking to the wife Thursday and said I need to put my GHB back in the truck. THAT brought on the discussion of guns. WHAT gun do you thing should go in the Bag? 22, or 9mm (based on weight of weapon and ammo per caliber.
I have a Browning Buckmark but it has the 8 inch barrel. It's a nice 22, but I think it's a bit large for a bag like that (we're mainly talking a LIGHT BOB/GHB. AND I am making the assumption (Yeah I know) that I will have access to a belt gun, either a 9mm Ruger LC9 W/laserguard or a Springfield XDs 45acp, each with three magazines.
Now knowing the above, what do you think, another defensive caliber handgun or a 22 with the HOPES of suppressing it within 12 months after deciding on which handgun.

If you will already have a reliable defensive firearm on your person, I say a 22 for critter hunting and ability to carry a few hundred rounds without weighing you down.

That was my primary thoughts. Even if I don't have on a sidearm, there is always one in the truck either in 9mm or 45acp. But I just wanted some other thoughts on it. I figure you would recommend the Ruger 22/45?

Right now the two top runners in my mind are the Ruger 22/45 and the Sig Mosquito (a lot of mixed reviews of this one though), both with threaded barrels.

Both the lite and the standard standard threaded barrel versions look like they would work out nicely. Like I said, I have a Buckmark with the long barrel but think the shorter barrel of the Ruger would be a better choice.

Supressed 10/22 RIFLE in a folding stock with lightweight optics. This will do much more for you than most handguns and takes up little room (especially if you trim the barrel back to minimum legal length). you can carry 300rounds for it and several magazines.

PMR-30 is mine as it reaches out to 100 yds no problem with 50 gr 22mag, second choice is the 22/45 lite and I have both. I never load more than half a box (25 rds) in my pmr to keep cases from getting dented, works great.

Think about the most likely scenario. I highly doubt I will need to be hunting small game with a pistol. I think it about a thousand times more likely that I would need protection from two legged varmints. Ergo my choice is a Glock 22. YMMV, but that is my reasoning.
