I will be passing I like the skinner, but we are helping our one daughter start her business if the exchange rate wasn't so bad, I probably would have done the skinner and lean cut

Myke, great to hear from you again! I hope things are going well for you, and stop back here often! Thanks Tom, things must be going good if I can afford to score a Chop House.

Well I finally got the go ahead from my financial advisor (wife) to get a Chop House. At first I figured I would prefer the lean cut, but now I can't decide what I want and I'm not getting both. The clock is ticking here, which just adds a little bit of pressure.

I went with the Lean Cut because I already own so many other thick Bussekin knives. I thought about getting both but I have plenty of steel ordered already. Besides, I don't have Randy's money!

If it were fully flat ground then I would absolutely get the thick cut. I'm thinking lean cut might still be a better fit for me. I'm just hoping "approx. 3/16" means 3/16" or maybe a little bit thicker. I definitely don't want it any thinner than 3/16".

Surprisingly I only have one thick busse blade since I sold most all of them, with lots of other thin 9-10 inch blades I got the thick cut. Seems like the thin blades are common amon production companies, Esee, Becker, condor, rat, survive, etc. while scrap yard is more than them it's not much more and in some cases less. I felt th thick cut is a great value and fits a hole in my collection.

I've cleared the road at Mingo of tree limbs, some about 4 inches thick with the 1311 and the 911 both. The 1311 is fast and hits hard because of the speed and the length. The 911 seems heavier to me and I carry that in the Jeep because the longer blade doesn't fit between the seat and transmission tunnel without sticking out the back.
So what I am saying is that I personally don't feel as if it matters. Either blade will work and work well. MAYBE it comes down to weight. That is why I like the Leaner better.
